WWE Legend Weighs In On MJF Controversy – “He Has A Problem With Going Too Far”

MJF middle fingers at AEW Dynamite

At AEW Revolution, MJF delivered arguably the performance of his carer in defeating Bryan Danielson in an Ironman Match to retain the World Championship.

However, the champion’s impressive showing in the ring was only part of the story. When he made his way to the ring, MJF grabbed a drink from a woman in the crowd and threw it over her son. The incident seemingly didn’t go down well with the child or his mother, although he was later pictured backstage meeting Powerhouse Hobbs.

The moment divided fans and those within the industry with some believing it was great heel work, while others suggested he’d gone too far.

During an appearance on Cafe de Rene with Rene Dupree, Jake Roberts has now given his take on the situation. In reviewing the incident the WWE Hall of Famer and AEW talent said that the World Champion has a problem with going too far.

“Yeah, yeah, by far (MJF is the best talker).

Anything when you do something to a fan is too much (Roberts said about the situation with MJF throwing a drink on a kid). Here’s the thing guys, the fans are the ones that make you. Don’t, ‘Hey, you fat f*cking b*tch.’ There’s no need for that. Number one, she probably is a fat b*tch, and the kids beside her know mama’s fat. She don’t need to be reminded. Is she coming back? I doubt it, because the kids are crying, that guy made fun of my momma. I’m not f*cking coming back for that sh*t.

There’s absolutely no need to attack the fans, none, zero, zilch… MJF does have a problem with going too far. I think he just gets going and he just lets go. You can’t let go. You gotta keep control of your sh*t.”

Ric Flair Slams MJF

Speaking on his own podcast, Ric Flair also laid into the AEW World Champion. Fair said that MJF’s antics “wouldn’t fly” in WWE, adding that it was just “cheap heat.”
