Jim Cornette Believes AEW Could “Make A Fortune” With Misused Star

Jim Cornette

Jim Cornette certainly does not pull his punches when it comes to his opinions on today’s wrestling product. However, he recently had some rare praise for two of AEW’s underutilized stars.

Speaking on his podcast the legendary manager said he was impressed with two members of the House of Black faction. But in true Cornette fashion, the praise was delivered via a strong backhand.

The two stars Cornette spoke about were Julia Hart and Buddy Matthews. He highlighted how good they look before criticising their position in the promotion because of their involvement in the faction.

Matthews debuted for AEW in 2022 as the newest member of Malakai Black’s spooky group. Since joining the promotion he has fought for the International and the TNT Championship and won the World Trios titles. Despite this success, there is a collection of fans and wrestling pundits who believe he is one of many underutilized within the company.

Entering the promotion as a Cheerleader alongside the Varsity Blondes, Hart, also joined the faction last year after an angle saw her become infected by the black missed blown into her eye. Following her gimmick change, she has introduced another level to her character and looks to become a standout star in the future.

Jim Cornette Praised AEW Stars Julia Hart And Buddy Matthews

I will make two comments, one Julia Hart, what a f*cking look. I wish she wasn’t with the House of Black because they are the sh*ts as a group, but Julia Hart looks like a star.

Poor Buddy, as we mentioned, as a heel with a gimmick and as a manager, you could make a fortune with that guy, because he’s athletic and looks great.

At AEW Revolution, Matthews, Black and Brody King defeated Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks to become the third team to capture the World Trios Championships.

Since winning the titles, they have successfully defended them twice. Firstly against Chris Jericho, Daniel Garcia and Sammy Guevara and the Elite. Secondly against the Best Friends trio of Chuck Taylor, Trent Beretta and Orange Cassidy.
