WWE Raw Results – September 11, 2023

The Women’s World Title was on the line on Raw with Rhea Ripley defending the gold against Raquel Rodriguez.

This week’s Raw took place at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia with Michael Cole and Wade Barrett on commentary.

Jey Uso started with a promo that was interrupted by Kevin Owens. There were comments from Owens talking about how people aren’t going to forget what Jey did with The Bloodline for three years. Owens said he was in that spot in the past too. The Judgment Day interrupted. Words were exchanged with J-Day even inviting Jey into their group. Owens said that Sami Zayn wasn’t there, so Jey Uso suggested he team with Owens. That match started after a break.

Match #1: The Judgment Day’s Damian Priest & Finn Balor (w/Dominik Mysterio) defeated Kevin Owens & Jey Uso when Balor pinned Owens with a Coup de Grace. – Jey accidentally superkicked Owens after Priest avoided the kick. Balor capitalized for the win. Owens was frustrated after the loss. Jey said it was his fault while Owens left alone.

After a commercial, Jey Uso walked up to Kevin Owens saying it was an accident. Owens told Jey to find his new Bloodline and said they were in The Judgment Day’s locker room. Owens left while Jey was frustrated.

A video package aired recapping the incredible GUNTHER-Chad Gable Intercontinental Title match from last week’s Raw.

Match #2: The Miz defeated Akira Tozawa. – The Miz won after hitting the Skull Crushing Finale three times.

GUNTHER celebrated his record-breaking reign as the Intercontinental Champion with his Imperium buddies. Chad Gable interrupted. They exchanged words with Gable saying he was going to win the title from GUNTHER. It led to a fight with Otis and Tommaso Ciampa helping Gable, so Imperium retreated.

Match #3:Drew McIntyre defeated Xavier Woods. – Drew won clean with a Claymore kick. They set up the match in a backstage argument earlier in the day. After he won, Drew said it didn’t have to be this way.

Cody Rhodes did an in-ring promo. Dominik Mysterio interrupted with JD McDonagh. Dominik claimed that Jey Uso will join The Judgment Day and Cody will look like a fool. When it got physical, Cody was in full control. Cody hit a Cody Cutter on Dominik and Cross Rhodes on both guys.

Drew McIntyre and Jey Uso had a backstage chat that would lead to them agreeing to a match against each other next week.

Match #4: Shayna Baszler defeated Chelsea Green. – Baszler hit a spinning slam. After the match, Piper Niven went after Baszler, but Zoey Stark made the save for her new friend Baszler.

Seth “Freakin” Rollins, the WWE World Champion, did a promo in the ring. Rolins talked about how he’s a proud father and a fighter. Rollins wanted Shinsuke Nakamura to fight him. Instead, Nakamura was beating up Ricochet backstage. Nakamura told Rollins that he’ll take his title, but not yet.

Match #5: Chad Gable, Otis & Tomasso Ciampa defeated Imperium – GUNTHER, Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci. – Gable made Vinci tap out to the Ankle for the submission win while Ciampa had GUNTHER trapped in a submission to prevent a save.

Tiffany Stratton, the NXT Women’s Champion, and Becky Lynch were backstage with WWE Official Adam Pearce. The women signed a contract for their NXT Women’s Title match on NXT TV on Tuesday night.

Match #6: Rhea Ripley defeated Raquel Rodriguez to retain the Women’s World Title – Nia Jax returned to WWE and hit Raquel with a Samaon Drop on the floor, which the referee never saw. When Raquel went back into the ring, Ripley hit the Riptide slam for the pinfall win.

After the match, Jax headbutted Ripley. Jax hit a leg drop and splash off the turnbuckle. End show.
