Update On LA Knight's WWE Status Following COVID Diagnosis

LA Knight‘s absence from WWE programming will soon come to an end as he is set to return to SmackDown in Sacramento, California.

According to PWInsider, LA Knight tested positive for COVID-19 and was sent home from the September 22nd episode of the blue brand. His return is eagerly anticipated, as he was supposed to be involved in the show’s closing segment, where John Cena was attacked by Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso of the Bloodline. Knight was meant to save Cena, potentially setting up a tag team match for the upcoming WWE Fastlane premium live event.

However, due to his absence, Cena was left without assistance. Before the closing segment, WWE official Adam Pearce had already confirmed that Cena and AJ Styles would be facing Sikoa and Uso at Fastlane. Unfortunately, Styles was later attacked backstage, leaving the situation up in the air.

There is still a possibility that Knight could team up with Cena at the premium live event, as it is scheduled for October 7th, allowing enough time for WWE to work out the details.

What Has LA Knight Been Doing Recently In WWE?

LA Knight recently emerged victorious in a feud with The Miz. The feud began after Knight won the Slim Jim Battle Royal at WWE SummerSlam. At Payback, Knight defeated Miz with Cena serving as the special guest referee, leading to a moment of respect between the two.

Knight has been receiving tremendous crowd reactions recently and is reportedly not only a fan favourite but also well-liked by WWE higher-ups.
