Chad Gable recently opened up about his experiences facing off against WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther.
Over the course of several weeks on WWE Raw, Chad Gable engaged in a heated feud with Gunther, culminating in a hard-hitting match on the September 4th episode of the show. Although Gable was unable to secure victory, he delivered a series of remarkable performances throughout the feud.
During an interview on WWE Die Woche, Gable was asked to describe his experience of facing Gunther. He expressed that the matches were incredibly intense and that being in the ring with Gunther pushed him to elevate his skills and performance. Gable revealed that the impact of Gunther’s strikes was evident on his chest, emphasising the hard-hitting nature of their encounters. He commended Gunther for his precision and intensity in every move, highlighting that nothing was wasted and every action had a purpose.
I wish I could show you my chest after some of those matches, and you could see how it feels. But it’s definitely some of the most intense, hard-hitting matches I’ve had in my entire career. So, you get what you see on TV with him. It’s not a joke. You can see the chops; they look like they hurt. They hurt. They sound like they hurt, they hurt. He hits hard. Nothing is wasted with him. Everything he does, whether it’s a boot, a punch, a chop, everything matters, and it hurts, and it’s stiff, and it’s laid in there.
Gable further elaborated on the competitive atmosphere of their matches, stating that being in the ring with Gunther forced him to up his game and raise his level. He relished the opportunity to engage in championship matches with Gunther, appreciating the intense and competitive nature that it brought out in him. Chad Gable expressed his admiration for Gunther’s style and the physicality of their bouts, describing them as some of the most intense matches in his entire career.
It’s intense, and that draws that out of me as well. So it makes me fight back intensely as well, which I like. It’s very competitive, being in there with him. It forces me to up my game, if that makes sense, to raise my level a little more, which is necessary when you’re in with a guy like that for championship matches, so I love those matches,

Chad Gable has won both the WWE Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships with former tag partners Jason Jordan, Bobby Roode, and also with current tag partner Otis. Gable has also won the NXT Tag Team Championship with Jordan.
