Tama Tonga has reacted to the Bullet Club reunion in AEW. On the 6th January edition of Dynamite, Kenny Omega, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson joined forces with AEW Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks.

A founding member of Bullet Club in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Tama Tonga shared his opinion of these events on Twitter:

“At this point, it’s only BulletClub when the Tongans are in it. Anything else is just guys that wished they were back in BulletClub.”

“The #Betrayal is reeeeaaaaal.”

Tonga was replying to current Impact Wrestling star Alex Shelley who himself said:

“Legitimately, as someone who has had their ass handed to them by the Bullet Club since the beginning, I can honestly say these three are like, my fifth most feared rendition of the group,” Shelley wrote. “There’s no Tongans, man.”

Bullet Club formed in 2013 when Tonga and Karl Anderson joined Prince Devitt and Bad Luck Fale in attacking Hiroshi Tanahashi. Originally an ‘all-gaijin’ faction, they were joined in late 2013 by The Young Bucks and Doc Gallows. One year later Kenny Omega, using the nickname of ‘The Cleaner’ joined the group.

Following Gallows and Anderson’s departure to WWE in early 2016, Omega assumed leadership of the group. He then formed his own alliance with The Young Bucks that would be known as ‘The Elite.’

This Elite group would expand to include fellow Bullet Club members including Cody Rhodes and Hagman Page; who would together go on to form All Elite Wrestling. A ‘civil war’ between this group and the rest of Bullet Club, led by Tama Tonga, occurred after Tonga, his brother Tanga Loa, and their father, King Haku attacked Omega and Rhodes after they had wrestled for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

Tama Tonga is enjoying a great start to 2021. He and Tanga Loa successfully winning the IWGP Tag Team Championships at Wrestle Kingdom 15 Night 1. In doing so, the brothers, known as the Guerillas of Destiny, have now started a record-breaking 7th reign as champions.
