CM Punk Vs. Jon Moxley Made Official For Dynamite

CM Punk

It’s finally official. On the August 24th edition of AEW Dynamite CM Punk and Jon Moxley will meet to crown the undisputed AEW World Champion.

The August 17th episode of AEW Dynamite opened in explosive fashion. World Champion CM Punk kicked off the show with microphone in hand and took aim at former champion Hangman Adam Page.

Punk challenged Hangman to a rematch on the spot, but AEW’s resident cowboy failed to appear.

At this Punk turned his attention to Jon Moxley, and to the delight of the crowd he held nothing back. Punk said that Moxley being the third best man in his own group has become a theme, while downplaying his AEW run to date. This naturally brought out the Interim World Champion who wasted little time in getting in Punk’s face.

Moxley raged that Punk had come to AEW as he had run out of money, mocked his injury record, and said that any fight he had left a long time ago.

As the tension ratcheted up, Moxley sparked a wild brawl by getting in the champion’s face. The two men eventually being separated by security.

However, the chaos wasn’t done there. Later in the show, Moxley came back out to the ring attacking Tony Nese on the way to call out Punk again. The champion duly obliged and the two stars were pulled apart on more time.

CM Punk returned to AEW on August 10th where he confronted Moxley after his win over Chris Jericho. It has since been confirmed that Punk and Moxley will settle their differences on the next episode of Dynamite.
