Kenny Omega Reportedly “Furious” With AEW Revolution Ending

Kenny Omega was reportedly “furious” with the failed explosion in the aftermath of the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch at AEW Revolution!

Following a violent 25:15 spectacle that saw ‘The Best Bout Machine’ retain the AEW World Championship over Jon Moxley via a One Winged Angel through a chair, Moxley’s hands and legs were bound by Omega – who is set to challenge either IMPACT’s Rich Swann or Moose next month – and The Good Brothers whilst the countdown to the ring exploding drew closer.

Moxley’s rival-turned-friend Eddie Kingston would attempt to free the former AEW World Champion but ultimately ended up shielding him as the timer elapsed. However, instead of a large explosion as anticipated, only a few of the pyrotechnics went off – a thoroughly underwhelming ‘explosion’ for what it was hyped up to be.

On the post-Revolution edition of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez reported that Omega was very upset with how the show concluded – going as far as to say he was “furious”:

“Omega was furious by the way; I can tell you all that. He was angry.”

After the show went off the air, Jon Moxley would seemingly shift the blame of the supposed dud onto Kenny Omega – stating that he “can’t make an exploding ring worth a s**t.” AEW would upload footage of this to their social media channels shortly after with Tony Khan corroborating Moxley’s story on the post-Revolution media scrum.

Neither Moxley nor Omega are slated to appear on the post-Revolution edition of AEW Dynamite. Currently announced for that show are the Dynamite debuts of Ethan Page, Maki Itoh and Christian Cage as well as Scorpio Sky challenging Darby Allin for the TNT Championship.

Inside The Ropes will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite when the show kicks off at 1am GMT on March 11th.
