Standing at 7 feet tall and usually weighing in at over 400 pounds, Paul Wight has been one of the most fearsome in ring competitors since making his WCW debut in May 1995.
Many opponents have listed him as the strongest man they have ever stepped foot in the ring with, but the former Big Show has recently had his say on who he feels are the strongest competitors he has shared the squared circle with.
Paul Wight lists Henry, Cena and Lesnar as his three strongest opponents
Appearing on the Deuce and Mo podcast, Wight named Mark Henry, John Cena and Brock Lesnar as the three strongest individuals he has faced in the ring:
“Mark Henry used to treat me like I was a stuffed animal toy. John Cena was like climbing on a piece of workout equipment in a gym because he was just so stable. And Brock Lesnar was so explosively powerful, Brock grabs you so fast you don’t have time to realize what was happening to you until after it was already over.”
Whilst not making the former WWE Champion’s top three, Wight did highlight two WWE Hall Of Famers as similarly strong contenders. He noted the legendary Goldberg as “very strong” whilst also listing a former tag team partner as outrageously strong:
“Kane is another one that gets into that mutant strength range”
Wight signed with AEW in February 2021 as an in-ring talent and commentator. Since then he has wrestled just four times, although he has become a permanent fixture at the AEW Dark: Elevation announce desk.
Paul Wight’s most recent match came on the April 4th, 2022 edition of AEW Dark: Elevation which was filmed a few days earlier. In fact, Wight has only wrestled ten times in the last five years.
In total WIght spent just over 20 years with WWE after signing with the company in 1999. His Hall Of Fame worthy career has seen him lift numerous titles including two WWE Championship reigns, two World Heavyweight Championships and a memorable run as ECW World Champion.
