The Wrestler Ric Flair Said Gave Him: “The Worst Match I Ever Had In My Life”

The Wrestler Ric Flair Said Gave Him:

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair candidly revealed the identity of the wrestler who gave him the worst matches of his career.

During an episode of his podcast The Ric Flair Show, Ric Flair didn’t hold back as he named The Ultimate Warrior as the wrestler behind two of the most disappointing matches of his wrestling tenure.

Reflecting on the matches, Flair described the encounter in Winnipeg, Canada, where he was the champion, as “probably the second worst match” of his life.

I’m wrestling the Warrior in Winnipeg [Canada], right? I’m the champion. And the match, Mike, was probably, the second worst match I ever had in my life.

He then recounted an even more harrowing experience in Phoenix, Arizona, where he wrestled The Warrior and suffered a dangerous head drop. Flair recounted how he returned from the ring, fully aware of the match’s shortcomings, only to be told by Pat Patterson that it was the worst match he had ever seen.

The first being when I wrestled The Warrior in Phoenix [Arizona] and he dropped me on my head. Okay? So I came back from the ring. I knew the match was absolutely brutal. And Pat Patterson goes to me, ‘That was the worst f**king match I’ve ever seen in my life’. And I said, ‘You’re telling me, motherf**ker? I was in it!’

Did Ric Flair Enjoy Working With The Ultimate Warrior?

Ric Flair has spoken numerous times about working with The Ultimate Warrior and he expressed his frustrations with the lack of chemistry between them and the scripted nature of their matches.

Flair even disclosed previously that The Ultimate Warrior had sent him a three-page letter to memorise for their matches, a practice he didn’t believe in. Furthermore, Flair attributed the failure of these matches to the lack of crowd response, emphasising that it simply did not work out, without blaming himself or The Ultimate Warrior.

Ric Flair even previously spoke about how The Ultimate Warrior shouldn’t have been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

In a more recent interview, Ric Flair revealed a legendary story about Andre The Giant’s alcohol consumption.
