Anna Jay Shoulder Injury Happened “Over A Month Ago”

Anna Jay

Anna Jay of the Dark Order recently suffered a serious shoulder injury that will keep her out of action for 6-12 months. A new report from Fightful suggests that the injury happened over a month ago. The report suggests that plans for AEW Dark were changed at the time. The hope was the injury was not as serious as it proved to be but it was exacerbated causing Jay to miss more in-ring time.

In a statement made on Twitter, All Elite Wrestling has confirmed that 22-year-old Jay was injured in training. AEW doctor Doc Sampson is seen checking over Anna Jay and confirms that she had dislocated her shoulder in an accompanying video.

The tweet from AEW confirms that Jay will need surgery and could miss up to a year of in-ring action. Jay was replaced in the AEW Women’s Championship Eliminator Tournament by Madi Wrenkowski. Jay was scheduled to face Dr. Britt Baker in the first round airing on YouTube. Baker would beat Wrenkowski before then losing to Nyla Rose on AEW Dynamite in the tournament. Rose will face the winner of the Riho v Thunder Rosa match airing on YouTube.

Jay’s last match aired in January 2021 on an edition of AEW Dark on YouTube. Jay would defeat Alex Gracia in the contest. Jay’s last match on AEW Dynamite was on the ‘Brodie Lee Celebration of Life’ episode. Tay Conti would team with Jay to defeat Dr. Britt Baker and Penelope Ford.

Everyone at Inside The Ropes sends their best wishes to Anna Jay for a speedy recovery.
