Kenny Omega Claims Third World Championship With IMPACT Title Win

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega has dethroned Rich Swann in the main event of IMPACT Rebellion to become IMPACT World Champion, making him the holder of three world titles simultaneously!

The two clashed in a first-time-ever singles bout, an idea proposed by IMPACT Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore last month. Prior to Swann and Moose’s IMPACT and TNA title unification match at Sacrifice, D’Amore upped the ante significantly by announcing that the unified champion would go on to face Omega for both the IMPACT and AEW World Championships at Rebellion.

After a gruelling back-and-forth bout featuring V-Triggers, Phoenix Splashes and even a Croyt’s Wrath, AEW prevailed over IMPACT when Omega bested Swann with his signature One Winged Angel. At one point, the IMPACT World Champion almost picked up a shock win when he hit countered a top rope One Winged Angle but ‘The Best Bout Machine’ managed to kick out in what was an incredibly close near-fall.

Kenny Omega now holds four world title belts from three separate promotions at the same time, adding the IMPACT World Championship and TNA World Heavyweight Championship to his already impressive collection of both the AAA Mega Championship and the AEW World Championship. It’s key to note, however, that the IMPACT and TNA titles are unified so only count as one title collectively despite the fact there are still two belts.

Elsewhere on Rebellion: Josh Alexander captured the X-Division Championship, Jordynne Grace & Rachael Ellering defeated Fire N Flava to win the Knockouts Tag Team titles and former WWE star Big Cass made his IMPACT debut!
