Will Ospreay Received “Massive Offer” From Rival Promotion Prior To AEW Signing

Will Ospreay Received

Will Ospreay had more than one serious offer for his wrestling future.

As was revealed at AEW Full Gear, Will Ospreay was announced as the major signing for the company, with The Ariel Assassin fully committing to the promotion at Revolution 2024 when Ospreay finishes up with New Japan. While many fans are excited to see the British star on Wednesdays and Saturdays, there was serious consideration for Ospreay to work Thursdays.

As reported by PWInsider, Ospreay was very much in discussions with Impact Wrestling, with a source close to the situation describing the deal as a “fantastic, massive offer.” Another source stated that it was the largest offer presented to a wrestler since Anthem took over the promotion, noted as being a “seven-figure level.”

The Ariel Assassin was very happy during his brief run with Impact, stating that while it was good wrestling for Impact, he wanted to wrestle inside a TNA ring. Impact will rebrand as TNA in early 2024.

Will Fans Still See Will Ospreay In New Japan?

Appearing for every major promotion around the world except for WWE in 2023, many fans are familiar with Ospreay’s work. However, while allowed to wrestle internationally, Ospreay is currently signed to and best known for his work in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Once it was announced that the British wrestler would be a part of AEW in the spring of 2024, it was not certain what the future held for Ospreay outside of All Elite Wrestling.

In an interview promoting All In, where Ospreay is expected to have a major match, Tony Khan clarified Will Ospreay’s status with NJPW.
