WWE’s latest round of layoffs is over, at least for now.
On September 15th WWE laid off over 100 employees across a whole range of departments. The move came after Nick Khan informed WWE staff that changes were incoming after he’d publicly said the company would look to be “aggressive” with cost-cutting measures once the merger with UFC was complete.
The merger between WWE and UFC was completed on September 12th, and TKO Group Holdings Inc. was formed.
Following the cuts, Khan sent a message to staff thanking them for their understanding. You can find an excerpt below.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding today. All individuals impacted by today’s workforce reductions have now been notified. We thank all of these colleagues for their contributions throughout the years and wish them the best.”

It has been reported that WWE are set to make further staff cuts.
Talent Cuts Also Expected
According to a report from Nick Hausman, “major cuts” are expected across the main roster and NXT. However, there’s no word on when these cuts will take place.
With the merger now complete, WWE seems open for business once more when it comes to signing new talent. It was believed there was an unofficial hiring freeze in place while the merger was taking place, but things have now changed.
Nia Jax has already returned to Monday Night Raw, having agreed a return a month earlier. Meanwhile, Jade Cargill is expected to join WWE following the expiry of her AEW contract. There’s no word on when she will sign with the company, but it’s been reported that her AEW deal will runs out in a matter of days.
In recent news, Nick Khan revealed that WWE and UFC are “hyper-focused” on a schedule release day like the NFL has.
