Toni Storm Appears To Question Thunder Rosa’s Injury

Toni Storm

Toni Storm says being the Interim AEW Women’s World Champion is “not ideal,” and she’s looking forward to becoming the real champion when Thunder Rosa returns.

At AEW All Out, Toni Storm became the Interim AEW Women’s Champion after winning a Fatal-Four Way Match that also featured Hikaru Shida, Jamie Hayter, and Dr. Britt Baker DMD.

Speaking at the post-All Out media scrum, Storm discussed her hard-fought victory and Thunder Rosa’s injury. Despite having won the goal, Storm will not be declared the actual women’s champion until she defeats Rosa in a unification match. The “interim” tag is something that irks Storm, who came to AEW for a fresh start and a chance to climb the mountain top:

“I mean, it’s not ideal. But Thunder Rosa says she’s injured. Okay. So when she say’s she’s not injured, she can come back and lose to me, and that will be the end of that.”

Storm’s comments may feed into the rumors of Rosa’s injury not being legitimate. Reports suggest Rosa will be out of action for “a few months” due to a bulging disc in her back. Before relinquishing the title, Rosa gave her support to Storm and hoped she would come out of All Out as Interim AEW Women’s Champion.
