Kurt Angle Reveals Which WWE Hall of Famer He “Wishes” He Could Have Wrestled In Their Prime

Kurt Angle smiles in the ring

Olympic Gold Medalist and WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle has opened up about a fellow wrestling legend that he wishes he could have squared off against in their prime.

The former WWE, WCW and TNA Champion shared the ring in unforgettable bouts with the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and The Undertaker during the healthiest years of his career.

The Pittsburgh, Pennyslvania native has been reflecting, however, on one fellow WWE Hall Of Famer that he would like to have battled at their respective peaks.

Kurt Angle Wishes He Couldve Battled Mick Foley In Their Prime

Speaking on a recent episode The Kurt Angle Show, available via AdFreeShows, Angle revealed that he wishes he could have faced Mick Foley when both men were at the top of their game.

The pair did in fact meet in a one on one encounter for the TNA Heavyweight Championship at Victory Road 2009, but with Foley in the twilight of his career and Angle carrying a serious groin injury picked up on the set of of the movie Warrior, the bout wasn’t the classic the Olympic Hero had hoped for:

“Even with Mick’s limitations because of his conditioning and everything, if I was 100% healthy, I could have made the match look a lot better. I would have been able to do a lot more stuff, make Mick look a lot more dominant. I would have been able to make the match much better than it was.

I wish Mick was in better wrestling shape. I know he wished he was, but still, it wasn’t bad. I was really happy with the match. Especially with my groin injury, knowing that he didn’t have the conditioning that he wanted. I thought the match wasn’t shit. I thought it was okay.

Don’t get me wrong. I wish Mick and I could have wrestled in our prime. At this point in time, Mick was a little bit past his prime. I was still kind of in my prime, but I was injured. Don’t get me wrong, Mick can still go. He could still go today.”
