Former WWE Champion Initially Laughed Off Vince McMahon's Idea

Former WWE Tag Team Champion Kenny Dykstra, best known for his time as a member of the Spirit Squad faction, recently revealed that he initially thought Vince McMahon‘s idea for a male cheerleader group was a joke.

In an interview with ESPN, Dykstra shared his disbelief when McMahon pitched the idea to the group. According to Dykstra, McMahon confidently stated:

Guys, this is my idea. It’s gonna work because I’m telling you it will work. I want cheerleaders, male cheerleaders. There’s nothing that gets more heat than male cheerleaders.

Dykstra couldn’t help but question the authenticity of McMahon’s idea, thinking it was an elaborate prank. However, McMahon assured them that the plan would either succeed or they would be fired.

I think he said something like, ‘Well, either it will work or you’ll be fired.’

Dykstra recalled the moment McMahon looked up, smiled, and said:

You’re gonna be on RAW next week.
