Chris Hero Signs With AEW

Chris Hero Kassius Ohno

Chris Hero is All Elite.

While the former ROH star hasn’t received an official graphic yet from Tony Khan, PWInsider Elite is reporting that Hero has signed with the company and is behind-the-scenes full-time as a producer.

Hero has reportedly gotten high marks from the company and just back in June made clear that he has not retired from the ring, but did note how he views the role of a producer.

“I have kept pretty active. I’ve done a bunch of seminars, I’ve done signings, of course. Then I kind of dabbled into the world of producing.

“It’s funny, we use this term producing, but it’s kind of like directing. Directing is probably a better [term], but I’m not going to start calling myself a director.”

Before the reported signing to AEW, Hero was working as a matchmaker for the West Coast Pro promotion in the United States.

Chris Hero Has A Strong Wrestling IQ & Career Resume

Hero sure has his friends in AEW as his Kings Of Wrestling tag team partner, Claudio Castagnoli, is the current ROH World Champion and is a member of the Blackpool Combat Club.

Speaking of Ring Of Honor, Hero has a storied history with the promotion as he began as an established talent in CZW, feuding with names like Samoa Joe, Bryan Danielson and The Briscoe Brothers, all names associated with AEW. Hero did have two runs in WWE as well, wrestling under the alias of Kassius Ohno under the NXT banner before he was released from the company in 2020.
