AEW star Bryan Danielson Undergoes Surgery; AEW Return Update Given

Bryan Danielson will be out of action once again.

Having only returned at All Out in September after recovering from a broken arm at Forbidden Door, The American Dragon has been sidelined again following an accident that took place during a recent episode of AEW TV.

Following Danielson being treated at ringside by medical personnel on the October 25th episode of Dynamite, Claudio Castagnoli announced that Danielson had suffered a broken orbital bone, blaming Kazuchika Okada and Orange Cassidy for the injury. Coincidentally, it was an accident during Danielson’s match with Okada at Forbidden Door that caused the aforementioned broken arm. However, a new report reveals that Bryan Danielson did not get injured on AEW Dynamite.

Danielson suffered the broken orbital bone during a match against Andrade El Idolo on the October 21st episode of Collision, with a spot where both men’s heads accidentally collided being cited as the cause of the injury.

Will Bryan Danielson Be Fully Recovered For Wrestle Kingdom?

In an update provided on the Control Center show ahead of Dynamite, Tony Schiavone confirmed that Danielson has undergone surgery and will be out “until later in the year.” While this does not confirm if The American Dragon will be available for the World’s End pay-per-view on December 30th, there is increased optimism that Danielson will recover in time For Wrestle Kingdom on January 4th, 2024, likely setting up a rematch with either Okada or Zack Sabre Jr.

Inside The Ropes would like to wish Bryan Danielson a full and speedy recovery.
