Bryan Danielson Injury Update Casts Doubt On AEW All In Appearance

Bryan Danielson wins at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

Bryan Danielson might have overcome Kazuchika Okada at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, but that victory came at a heavy cost.

During the match, Danielson was on the end of a huge top rope elbow drop from the NJPW star, and by his own admission, failed to get his arm into a safe place. This meant that as Okada landed he broke Danielson’s forearm.

Despite the injury, the American Dragan wrestled for a further ten minutes, earning the win via an improvised devastating submission, created out of necessity due to the problems with his right arm.

Speaking at the post-show media scrum Danielson said doctors believed he would be out for around 6-8 weeks. Crucially this would have given him just enough time to be able to appear at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium on August 27th.

“I was planning on wrestling on Wednesday this week. I don’t think that’s going to happen because, in this specifically, we think I fractured my right forearm with about ten minutes left to go. Talking to our doctors, and I love the AEW medical staff and trainers, they think it’s going to be six to eight weeks for this specific injury.”

However, a new update from his wife Brie Garcia has hinted that he could be set for a longer spell on the sidelines. Posting on Instagram, Garcia shared a photo of Danielson’s x-ray writing:

“Not sure to be proud or chastise him for wrestling 10 more minutes with this break!! Definitely worse than we thought!! Nurse Brie ready for action!!”

News Adds To Bryan Danielson’s Recent Injury Struggles

Heading into AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door it was reported that Danielson was “banged up” and still feeling the effects of his 60-minute Iron Man Match with MJF back in March. This meant that the star wasn’t involved in any real physical angles leading up to the show, with his only match coming at Double or Nothing where he did relatively little in the Anarchy In The Arena match.
