NJPW G1 Climax Night 20 Final

NJPW G1 Climax 32 has come down to Will Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada, the two will clash to claim their spot in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 17. You can find the results right here!

After 19 nights of gruelling action across four blocks, 28 men have now been whittled down to the final two as G1 Climax 32 reaches its final match.

This was be the eighth singles match between Ospreay and Okada with Okada having a 6-1 advantage over the United Empire leader. Ospreay’s sole victory came with the aid of Great O-Khan during the 2020 edition of the tournament. Okada has since defeated Ospreay twice more at successive Wrestle Kingdoms.

The fact he needed help for his only win still eats at Ospreay who, in post-match comments after the semi-finals, vowed to overcome the six-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion on his own this time.

The match itself began with Okada in control and keeping things to a slow and deliberate pace. The Rainmaker showed he meant business with brutal strikes and dropped The Commonwealth Kingpin with a DDT on the outside.

Ospreay, however, gave as good as he got, getting back in the action with a vertical suplex before landing an Os Cutter to Okada on the floor.

Okada put pressure on Ospreay’s taped-up neck with the Money Clip but the IWGP US Champion was able to escape and rally with an Os Cutter on the apron followed by two more in the ring for a two-count. In desperation, Okada was able to floor Ospreay with a Rainmaker but couldn’t keep his opponent down.

Ospreay hit Okada with a barrage including a Cross-legged Tombstone and Hidden Blade for only two. Trying to find a way to put Okada away he borrowed finishers from NJPW legends, hitting High Fly Flow and Styles Clash, but still only got two.

He tried a One-Winged Angel but Okada countered into a Landslide followed by Rainmaker for two! After a struggle, Okada pulled Ospreay up for another Rainmaker but was countered into a Spanish Fly.

After a brutal series of elbows to one another, Ospreay took the advantage with a Hook Kick, he attempted to hit the Stormbreaker and Hidden Blade but Okada had answers to them both and was able to hit a final Rainmaker to win the match and G1 Climax 32.
