Former AEW Champion Ready To Return After More Than 1 Year Away

AEW star Thunder Rosa is ready to get back in the ring after a lengthy absence.

The former Women’s Champion has been out of action since August 2022 after requiring back surgery. In a positive update, Rosa has stated that she is good to go but just needs the phone to ring.

Speaking with News 4 in San Antonio, Texas, Rosa gave an update on her road to recovery and thanked the fans for their continued well wishes:

I am ready. Whenever (I get) that call and, you know, my boss says β€˜It’s time for you to return.’

I am super excited and I can not wait to show to the world and all you fans that have been supporting all this time that I am ready and I have a lot more to give.

Although AEW is yet to officially announce that Rosa will be making her return to action, the former Women’s Champion has recorded a promotional video for the upcoming Collision taping in San Antonio on Saturday, December 23rd.

As with all live events, the card is subject to change. Rosa’s last match saw her team with Toni Storm and Hikaru Shida to defeat the trio of Emi Sakura, Marina Shafir and Nyla Rose.

Another AEW Star Seemingly Nears Return

With multiple wrestlers sidelined with injuries, fans continue to wish those not cleared to compete for a full and speedy recovery. Another star who has been out of action for a significant period of time is Kyle O’Reilly, who has taken over a year away as he required neck surgery. In another optimistic update, the AEW star has hinted that he is also nearing a return to wrestling.
