WWE Superstar Erik Sidelined “For The Forseeable Future”

The Viking Raiders Erik Ivar stand backstage on WWE NXT 2.0 2022

There’s some unfortunate news for The Viking Raiders as Erik looks to be laid up for quite some time, if you go by what heel commentator Wade Barrett had to say on the matter

On the latest episode of WWE Raw, Barrett shared the “bad news” that Erik will be out for the “foreseeable future” due to an undisclosed injury.

Erik last competed on the September 14 episode of The Main Event, but something is up with the tag team star as The Viking Raiders were on tap to face New Day on the September 18 rendition of WWE Raw, but Ivar ended up battling Kofi Kingston in just singles action.

Erik & The Viking Raiders Have Yet To Catch Fire On The Main Roster

As an act, The Viking Raiders have been extremely under-utilized since being moved up to the main roster. During their NXT “black and gold” days, The Viking Raiders were known as The War Raiders and were booked as a dominant tag team that would match up against fellow heavy-hitting tag teams like Authors Of Pain.

With Erik out, it will be intriguing to see what WWE decides to do with Ivar and Vahalla, who in real life happens to be married to Erik.

To their credit, WWE continued the feud between New Day and The Viking Raiders this past Monday on Raw as Ivar competed against Xavier Woods in singles competition. Valhalla was absent from ringside, but the feud forges forward next week as Ivar will battle Kingston in a Viking Rules match.

In a new update, Erik has recently undergone neck fusion surgery and is now recovering.
