Cody Rhodes Comments On “Awful” Physiotherapy

Cody Rhodes screaming in pain

Cody Rhodes is currently undertaking one of the biggest battles of his career as he fights his way back from a serious pectoral injury.

Heading into WWE Hell In A Cell the American Nightmare suffered a torn pectoral tendon, which he damaged further just days ahead of the show. However, despite the severity of the issue Rhodes wrestled in the main event of the show against Seth Rollins.

The damage to the former Intercontinental Champion was clear for all to see, with a huge amount of bruising across part of his chest and arm. The bout, which Rhodes won, lasted a little under 25 minutes earned a five star rating from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter despite his serious injury.

On the following episode of Monday Night Raw, Rhodes was attacked by Rollins to write him off television so that he could undergo surgery.

Cody Rhodes Hints At Tough Battle To Return To Fitness

Rhodes went under the knife to repair the damage to his pectoral muscle in early June, and the procedure was described as successful. The former AEW Executive Vice President is now well into his physical therapy schedule as he works on returning to the ring.

In a Halloween themed post on social media featuring his wife and young daughter, Rhodes gave a brief insight into how difficult his recovery is. The star stated that his PT is “awful,” but his family give him a reason to never quit.

“How’s pt going?”

It’s fn’ awful. Everyday we dig into the muscle, then I scream, half the time I spot a tear flowing. It’s a near impossible task getting a body part that had been shredded to 100%…or Hell even 90%. But on the worst of days I have the best reason to not tap out.”

It was recently reported that Cody Rhodes’ recovery is “a little ahead of schedule” with rumours linking him with a comeback at the 2023 Royal Rumble.
