Mandy Rose

Mandy Rose Hits Out At Tiffany Stratton Comparisons

Mandy Rose Addresses In-Ring Return; Comments On Possible AEW Appearance

Former NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose has tackled comparisons between herself and rising star Tiffany Stratton.

Rose was recently a guest on Busted Open Radio and named Statton as a current star in NXT that stands out to her. The 33-year-old went on to explain why she disagrees with fan comparisons between Stratton and herself.

“Obviously I love what Tiffany Stratton has done since I’ve been away from there. I think there were some comparisons with them trying to make her like me, which I don’t agree with.

I think she’s her own person. We all can be compared to people, like I love being compared to Trish Stratus, but I am my own person as well. So I think she’s an incredible athlete. Even when I was training over there, the way she was progressively getting better so fast, it was wild. So I definitely see that.

I just think there’s so many women right now that are arriving. Some of these girls, I remember training, they just got there, and now they’re having these amazing matches. It’s crazy to see, which is awesome.”

NXT Star Joins Ricochet In WWE Concussion Protocol

WWE NXT Set To Undergo Huge Change Following New Deal

An NXT star has been placed in WWE concussion protocol after supposedly being injured on Tuesday.

On NXT earlier this week, Fallon Henley took on Tiffany Stratton in a qualifying match for the women’s Iron Survivor match at NXT Deadline. On top of losing to Stratton, who came out with the pinfall victory after hitting the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, Henley is also said to have come out of the bout with a concussion.

During the most recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez noted that the concussion likely occured when Stratton hit her finisher which resulted in Henley hitting her head hard off the mat.

“You could see immediately when she hit that moonsault, like, Fallon’s head bounced off the mat,” Alvarez said. “Tiffany pinned her and I’m almost certain that’s where it happened. But she is also injured, so best wishes to both of them.”

AEW Dynamite Promo Led To $500 Fine For Former Champion

AEW Dynamite Ratings See Huge Increase Without WWE NXT Competition

A former AEW World Tag Team Champion has revealed they were fined hundreds of dollars after a recent AEW Dynamite promo.

During last night’s edition of Dynamite, former AEW World Tag Team Champion Austin Gunn didn’t hold back with his thoughts on the fans in attendance. At one point, he swore directly at the crowd before later calling them “fat pieces of s**t.”

Taking to X after the show, Gunn claims that he was fined $500 for the expletives used but wasn’t too bothered about it as he believes he will make the money back when he dethrones MJF of the ROH World Tag Team Championship.

NXT

WWE Considering Touring With Televised NXT Events

Wide shot of an NXT event at the WWE Performance Center

NXT’s television events could be moving away from the WWE Performance Center for the first time in over three years.

Since October 2020, televised episodes of the black and gold brand have emanated from the WWE Performance Center. However, that could be set to change as Dave Meltzer reports in the latest edition of  Wrestling Observer Radio that the company is considering having NXT’s weekly televised events tour the country – just like Raw and SmackDown.

“They’re going to keep sending the main roster stars down to the show. And as far as anything else goes, there’s talk about taking them touring with the extra money. There are pluses and minuses of it.

The pluses are, I think that if it’s if it looks good and looks better, we’ve seen with Raw, we’ve seen with everyone that when it looks good on TV, the look of the TV show is very, very important when it comes to viewership. So moving to bigger places will help to a degree.

But the developmental aspect of the thing, if you are taking the people and you’re taking them out of town the travel days and everything like that, it does give them less days in the gym. And it does take a lot of the people who work with the talent away for a couple of days. So there is negativity towards unless like they do arenas in Florida. But the problem with doing arenas in Florida is there are only so many before you burn out the audience. So especially in that area.

It would help the show. It would help the numbers for them to move to a bigger setting. They’d sell more tickets. Things like that bring in revenue in that way. I don’t know if they’d sell enough tickets to offset the expense of going, but they might. All of this remains to be seen. But with the new money, it’s more affordable to do that,”

AEW Street Fight Set To Be Sponsored By Major SEGA Video Game

An upcoming AEW Dynamite Street Fight is set to be sponsored by the latest title in a major SEGA video game franchise.

Earlier this week, it was reported that SEGA would be sponsoring the upcoming 8-man Street Fight which will pit Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, Kota Ibushi, and Paul Wight against The Don Callis Family. More details on that sponsorship have now come to light.

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the developers of the SEGA-published video game franchise Like A Dragon (formerly known as Yakuza), have announced that the 8-man match will be a ‘Like A Dragon Gaiden Street Fight’. This is part of a sponsorship to promote the series’ latest title, Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, which releases worldwide today.

This is not the first time the Like A Dragon franchise has crossed over with the world of professional wrestling. Yakuza 6: The Song Of Life featured various NJPW stars, including Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Tetsuya Naito, as part of the game’s Clan Creator side quest. Kenny Omega has also appeared in the series, having made a cameo appearance in Like A Dragon Ishin.

Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe's ROH TV Title Reign Comes To A Bizarre End

Samoa Joe making his entrance as ROH World Television Champion on AEW Dynamite

Less than a week after making history, Samoa Joe has vacated the Ring of Honor World Television Championship.

During AEW Dynamite last night, Joe successfully defended the title against Keith Lee – his 18th successful defense since winning the belt from Minoru Suzuki back in April 2022. Shockingly, however, he relinquished the title after 574 days as champion.

The unexpected development comes less than a week after Joe became the single longest-reigning ROH World TV Champion in history after surpassing Jay Lethal’s 567-day reign with the title. Joe explained that he was vacating the belt in order to focus on challenging MJF for the AEW World Championship.

Mariah May Appears On Dynamite; Signs With AEW

Mariah May Independent Wrestler

Former Goddess Of Stardom Champion Mariah May is officially All Elite after debuting for AEW on Dynamite last night.

During a backstage segment on AEW Dynamite, May was introduced as the newest member of the AEW roster by RJ City. May stated that she wanted to follow in the footsteps of Toni Storm and has mirrored her idol’s career path by finding success in STARDOM.

Shortly after her appearance on the program, Tony Khan announced via X that May had signed with the promotion. Specific details surrounding her contract are currently unknown.

Reports of May potentially heading to AEW first emerged in August. A month later, she competed in her final match for STARDOM after a 9-month run with the company and has not competed in the ring since.

John Cena

John Cena's Current WWE Run Is Seemingly Over

John Cena locking in the STF on Solo Sikoa at WWE Crown Jewel 2023

John Cena is seemingly done with WWE… for now.

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists announced last night that it has agreed to a deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and TV Producers to end its 118-day strike, which brought Hollywood productions to a standstill.

However, the move looks like it will also mark the end of Cena’s brief return to WWE. Back at the WWE Fastlane post-show press conference last month, Cena admitted that his current WWE run would end as soon as the SAG-AFTRA strike was over.

Cena last competed at WWE Crown Jewel where he suffered a shocking loss to Solo Sikoa in a one-sided affair. Sikoa hit Cena with 11 seperate Samoan Spikes during their match before decisively pinning the legendary star.
