Eddie Kingston Admits He Never Got Along With CM Punk

CM Punk Eddie Kingston

Eddie Kingston has admitted that he and CM Punk never got along but wished he was still with the company today.

In a new interview with Adrian Hernadez, Kingston didn’t hold back with his thoughts on CM Punk. He admitted that he and Punk were never friends during their time together in AEW and he even initially didn’t want Punk to join the company. However, he ultimately wishes things hadn’t gone down the way they did due to the success Punk brought to the business as a whole

“I’m doing my job. And that’s how I felt, you know what I mean? I didn’t know what anyone else in the locker room felt. I didn’t care. That’s how I felt. I didn’t want him there, you know? I mean, me and Punk don’t like each other, and that’s fine. You’re not going to like everybody you work with, you know what I mean?

Do I wish he was still an AEW? And I wish it worked out differently. Yeah, because he helped the company. But other than that, I don’t give a f**k what he does. You know what I mean? Because me and him never got along anyway.

No, we don’t have to be best friends to fight each other. It makes it better when we’re not best friends. You know, when we have to fight each other. I don’t wish him bad, but I don’t wish him good either because I don’t give a f**k. That’s it.”

Update On Alex Shelley's Condition Following Calf Injury

Alex Shelley making his entrance at IMPACT Sacrifice 2022

A new update has come to light on the condition of Alex Shelley after he recently suffered a calf injury.

Last week, PWInsider reported that Shelley suffered “an extremely pulled muscle in his calf” during the first night of IMPACT Wrestling’s UK tour in Glasgow. The injury occurred during the show’s main event where Shelley teamed with Chris Sabin to take on Eric Young and Josh Alexander.

Cultaholic has provided the latest on the IMPACT World Champion’s condition. Scott D’Amore told the outlet that, thankfully, Shelley will be able to compete when he next needs to compete in the promotion but provided no timeframe on exactly how long that will be.

“He’s gonna need a little bit of rest and a little bit of time but he’s gonna be more than healthy and ready before he needs to be back in an IMPACT Wrestling ring. So it’s going to be a good chance for him to rest and recharge.

Like this company, like this group does, this talent and crew they rallied around each other. Before I even had a chance to turn my mind towards it talent were coming up and offering suggestions and one of them was Frankie Kazarian stepping up.”

Jason Segal Superkicked By Sami Callihan At Indie Event

Jason Segel Involved In Independent Show Spot Featuring AEW Star

How I Met Your Mother star Jason Segal was recently on the receiving end of a superkick courtesy of Sami Callihan!

Segal was in attendance for a recent Republic of Lucha event and ended up getting more than he bargained for during a match between Sami Callihan and Penta El Zero Miedo. Callihan acknowledged Segal’s presence in the crowd in a pre-match promo before subsequently telling him to “go f**k yourself.”

During the match itself, the two men fought outside of the ring and at one point, Penta was thrown into the lap of Segal. Callihan proceeded to superkick both of them before trying to choke Penta as he taunted Segal.

Mark Henry Hits Out At MJF Vs. Kenny Omega Being On Free TV

Mark Henry

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry has criticised the decision to feature MJF Vs. Kenny Omega on free television instead of a PPV.

In the main event of last week’s AEW Collision, MJF successfully retained the AEW World Championship over Kenny Omega in their first-ever match together. In the process, MJF also ensured that he will become the longest-reigning AEW World Champion in the process.

Some have been critical of the decision to host MJF Vs. Kenny Omega for the very first time on free television and now that includes AEW backstage figure Mark Henry! Speaking on the latest Busted Open Radio, the WWE Hall of Famer claimed that there’s “no way” the dream bout should have been avaliable for free!

“There’s no way that should have been free. I would have charged everybody to see that [laughs]. That’s a dream match. It had pay-per-view written all over it — unbelievable from beginning to end, and somebody like a Kenny Omega almost deserves the pay-per-view platform.

Maxwell, as good as he is, I even see there’s room for improvement — he’s going to be so much better in the next two to three years. His psychology is tremendous, and his ability to captivate the audiences and pull people in … for a young guy, he’s beyond his years. Absolutely incredible.”

New Japan Pro-Wrestling Issues Statement On Fan Harrassment

New Japan Issues Statement Regarding Fans Harassing Wrestlers

New Japan Pro-Wrestling has released a statement requesting that fans respect the boundaries of its professional wrestlers.

The statement was released via the NJPW’s official English website in the early hours of this morning. It is currently unknown what prompted the company to issue such a statement although it was not posted on their Japanese website, suggesting an incident may have occurred at Fighting Spirit Unleashed in Las Vegas this past weekend.

The statement can be read in its entirety below:

Thank you for supporting New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

On principle, we ask fans to refrain from contact with NJPW wrestlers outside of officially designated fan meeting events. This includes waiting for wrestlers on entrance and exits from venues.

Please bear in mind that around venues and hotels where wrestlers are staying, waiting for wrestlers and pressuring for autographs and pictures puts a strain on personal time as well as disrupts regular business for other guests and staff.

Please understand that in future actions deemed to be overtly aggressive or be construed as stalking will be discussed with local law enforcement and dealt with appropriately.

We kindly ask fans to refrain from the following:

  • Waiting at Dojos, venues, hotels and places of transit (airports etc) for wrestlers as well as photography and video taken without consent.
  • Approaching wrestlers and requesting photographs and autographs outside of designated meet and greet events.
  • Directly bringing gifts and fan mail to wrestlers.
  • Gathering in large numbers around venues for wrestlers.

NJPW and its wrestlers deeply appreciate the support of our great fans and ask for your co-operation in respecting personal space as well as local residents and institutions.

Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson Injury Didn't Occur On AEW Dynamite

Bryan Danielson locking in a submission on Christian Cage

It has now been reported that Bryan Danielson‘s orbital bone injury actually occurred before his most recent AEW Dynamite match!

During AEW Collision this past Saturday, Claudio Castagonoli announced that Bryan Danielson was injured yet again – suffering an orbital bone injury in the closing moments of their match against Orange Cassidy and Kazuchika Okada on AEW Dynamite.

However, it has since come to light that Danielson was, in fact, already injured when he walked into that match. Speaking on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the injury happened during his recent match with Andrade El Idolo on Collision.

The injury is said to have happened near the end of their match when Andrade attempted to hit his signature spinning elbow. The two men bumped heads accidentally during the spot which reportedly resulted in The American Dragon breaking his orbital bone.

Yeah, I guess, he went in with a blackeye. They didn’t know how serious it was. But obviously, he worked on it. And they shot the angle to take them out during the match, so the injury took place when they bonked heads. So it was basically a fluke. It was just one of those things. It wasn’t like he got hit too hard or anything.

Andrade was doing a spinning elbow and Danielson’s head was in one place and his head was in the wrong place and they bumped heads. And that happens in fights and things like that, you know, fairly often actually.
