WWE Lawsuit With Panini Settled

WWE Panini

WWE has finally closed the door on, at least one, of their on-going lawsuits.

Back in September we saw a major disagreement between the WWE and the Panini trading card company over the licensing of WWE trading cards.

WWE claimed that Panini had breached their contract, while Panini counter-claimed that they fulfilled all of their obligations. This was also around a similar time that Fanatics was announced as the new licence holder when the current agreement expired.

However, after just two months it looks like this court case is over.

As seen in a new court filing by Paul Lesko, both sides have agreed on terms and all cases of action have been dismissed with prejudice. This means that neither side is able to re-open the case and will have to cover their own respective legal fees.

You can read a full breakdown of the case and what the filing means for the WWE moving forward, here.

Jade Cargill Training With NXT Star Ahead Of WWE Debut

Jade Cargill Training With Former NXT Champion Ahead Of WWE Debut

It has been 57 days since WWE announced the signing of former AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill and the 31-year-old is yet to make her in-ring debut for the company.

A new report has provided an update on what Cargill has been during so far whilst signed to the WWE and possibly providing a hint into her future plans within the company.

According to a new report from Wrestle Purists, former NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez is helping Cargill train for her first WWE match.

It is noted that although Perez is younger than Cargill, the NXT Star is much more experienced and “has strong fundamentals.” Perez has been wrestling since 2018, training at Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion and wrestling in Ring of Honor before being signed to the NXT roster in 2022.

While multiple sources have provided the occasional update on Cargill’s progress behind the scenes, only a select few truly know when and where the long-awaited debut will take place.

NXT Star NOT Called Up To WWE Main Roster

Surprising WWE SmackDown Match Was "Literal Last-Minute Decision"

Recently Axiom made his WWE main roster debut taking on Dragon Lee on last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

But, according to a new report this was not a call up for the Spanish WWE star but rather a last minute decision.

PWInsider has reported that Axiom’s WWE debut was a “literal last minute decision” and that he was only notified of his role on the show the morning of SmackDown.

The report goes on to reveal that Axiom is still listed internally as a member of the NXT roster, meaning that he has NOT been called up to SmackDown despite this recent appearance.

IMPACT

IMPACT Star Granted Their Release, Reveals WWE Talks

When Kenny King first arrived in IMPACT Wrestling he was part of ‘Honor No More’ well now the former ROH TV Champion is ‘IMPACT No More’ after securing his release from the company.

Last week Fightful Select reported that Kenny King had requested and been granted his release from IMPACT Wrestling.

Now in a new interview the former IMPACT star has revealed his current career goals as well as some interesting information regarding a possible WWE run in previous years.

Speaking with Bryan Asbury on Developmentally Speaking, King was asked if he plans to pursue the WWE or if that is no longer a goal for him.

King would note that although there have previously been talks of him within the WWE, he believes he is now too old to make it work.

““I think, in-ring, I think that I might be too old. Not might be. There’s been meetings about me, and I’m too old, so that’s fine.

I feel like that’s kind of insane because everybody knows that pro wrestlers only hit their prime and get better at a certain age. But I feel like WWE is, if you haven’t been here by a certain time, I mean look what they tried to do to LA Knight.

LA Knight and I were supposed to go in at the same time. I was at that time making way too much money at Ring of Honor to want to go and sign a developmental contract. But it worked out for him. But even then, he’s had to become undeniable. They tried to make him a manager, they changed his name, they took away everything that made him him until he left them absolutely no choice.

So it’s kind of a silly mentality that they have there. But you never know, things can happen. When my in-ring career is done, there’s always a whole host of possibilities and things that could happen. But as far as that’s concerned, I guess I’m too old to wrestle for WWE, which is fine.” [h/t Fightful]

Jey Uso

Jey Uso Sets Sights On WWE Intercontintal Championship

Jey Uso Lists Surprising Goal As His Top WWE Priority

WWE Superstar Jey Uso has set his sights on Gunther, revealing that his current goal is to become WWE’s new Intercontinental Champion!

Speaking with Billboard, Uso revealed that he wants to win the Intercontinental Championship more than ever other accolade as his father and uncle have previously held the gold along with his favourite wrestlers:

“The first singles championship on the top of my list is the IC [Intercontinental Championship] title. Gunther gonna have to run that. Everybody over there. He likes the Tribal Chief, you see what I do to the Tribal Chief? I don’t give a damn, let’s run that. My dad was an IC champion, my uncle, Umaga IC champion. Shawn Michaels. My favorite wrestler, the greatest, Razor Ramon. All the greats held the Intercontinental Championship and I’m trying to get that. That’s Pay-Per-View material right there.”

Gunther is currently set to defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship against The Miz at Survivor Series 2023, should Gunther continue his historic reigns we may be set for a first time ever televised singles match between the two men.

Jim Cornette

Jim Cornette Names His 2023 Wrestler of the Year

Update On LA Knight's WWE Status Following COVID Diagnosis

Jim Cornette is one of wrestling’s most divisive personalities with some seeing him as an incredible fountain of wrestling knowledge and a bastion of the old way and others seeing him a ‘bitter’ and outdated.

But one thing is for certain, when Jim Cornette talks…people listen.

Taking on his podcast, Jim Cornette’s Drive Thru, Cornette would run down the list of candidates circulating online for the 2023 Wrestler of the Year before revealing his pick for the award.

Jim Cornette would name fan favourite LA Knight as his wrestler of the year, citing his ability to over come bad booking to become a global superstar and secure his place in the main event of a $50,000,000 PPV.

“Even if you don’t want to go with the obvious that is Roman Reigns. Would you then have to go with, because Roman, I will say it’s obvious for the people that might not know because he’s on top of the biggest company in the world and the biggest shows he’s on top of are all better than the ones he’s not on. But then also, you have to be realistic. At this point, would that not be the LA Knight Award?

If Cody was inspirational because he came back from his injury, he’s the most popular babyface in the business. Is not the wrestler of the year the guy who is now the second most popular babyface in the business? And this time last year, or maybe more recently, was a goddamn joke manager of a modelling agency. What kind of turnaround, how has that ever happened before this quickly in the wrestling industry?

You go from you hate the gimmick you’re doing, everyone else hates the gimmick that you’re doing and you’re not doing it very well and they are about to fire you to you’re a goddamn superstar and you’re the main event of a $50 million show in Saudi Arabia in 9 months.”

Undertaker

What Did The Undertaker Really Thing Of "The American Badass"

The Undertaker Thumb

When The Undertaker transformed from a living dead man into a motorcycle riding, bandana wearing, American Badass, nobody could have predicted how well the transformation would have gone down…not even The Deadman himself.

Speaking on his new podcast, Six Feet Under, The Undertaker would reveal why, despite it’s success, he believes ‘The American Badass’ gimmick did not posses the same longevity as ‘The Deadman’.

The WWE Hall of Famer would state:

“I don’t think it has 30 years of legs.

It excels pretty fast, but I don’t see 30 years without some kind of…it doesn’t matter what the character is, you have to evolve.

With something like the American Badass, there’s not a whole lot of places to evolve to. I’m a big badass biker who gets in fights and talks shit. There’s just not a lot of places to go with that.

Where, The Undertaker, the original character, there are all kind of different things you can do with that. I don’t think it has 30-year legs. I took more bumps as American Badass than I did as Undertaker. I actually took more bumps at the end of my career than the beginning. It all worked out the way it was supposed to,” [h/t Fightful]
