Reason For Doc Gallows’ Absence Revealed

Gallows & Anderson

Doc Gallows has reportedly been temporarily written off IMPACT television to due acting commitments.

According to PWInsider.com, Gallows has landed an unspecified acting role, and as a result has missed recent tapings of IMPACT. It was revealed by Ethan Page on the November 24th episode of IMPACT that Gallows would be out of action for four to six weeks.

Doc Gallows debuted for the company on July 18th of this year alongside long standing tag team partner, Karl Anderson. The team had rose to prominence in New Japan Pro Wrestling as part of legendary stable, The Bullet Club. The pair would sign with WWE in 2016, aligning themselves with former Bullet Club partner AJ Styles to form ‘The O.C’.

Following their release from WWE in April as a result of budget cuts following the coronavirus pandemic, the pair debuted at Impact’s Slammiversary event as ‘The Good Brothers.’ The team defeated The North at Turning Point 2020 to become the Impact World Tag Team Champions.

Speaking of his WWE release with The Guerrilla Position in October, Gallows admitted that although it came as a shock, he wasn’t angry at the decision:

“I’m not a rear view mirror guy. So, I was sitting in my sauna [when] I got the call. I was talking to Karl Anderson on the phone minutes before and I said ‘We have nothing to worry about, we just signed multi million dollar deals. I feel bad for our friends.’ And then my phone rang.

“And when I hung up the phone I went ‘Well the obvious response to this would be to be angry, to be bitter, to be mad.’ But what I think, the perfect response to this is to understand that as serious as this can be it’s still pro wrestling. Nobody lived or died over what just happened.”

At this time, no further details have been released on the nature of the acting role and what it will entail for Doc Gallows in the future. Gallows’ partner Karl Anderson has remained active on IMPACT, defeating Ethan Page at Final Resolution.
