Since launching in January 2019, All Elite Wrestling has amassed an impeccable roster. In doing so, they have launched an online rivalry between diehard fans of both AEW and WWE, becoming the first promotion to provide true competition to WWE since the height of the Monday Night Wars.
In 2022, the Tony Khan-helmed promotion added a multitude of talent to its already stacked roster and 2023 has also seen more arrivals.
So, who has been signed by AEW this year?
Will Ospreay
At AEW Full Gear 2023, Will Ospreay officially became All Elite when he signed his contract in the middle of the ring. The star revealed he will finish up his commitments with NJPW before joining AEW in the lead-up to Revolution in 2024.
Ospreay is no stranger to AEW having wrestled for the company multiple times including Forbidden Door and All In.
Adam Copeland
On October 1st at WrestleDream, Copeland shocked the world when he made his AEW debut, confronting longtime friend and tag partner Christian Cage at the close of the show as Cage was about to attack Sting.
Following the appearance, the WWE Hall of Famer confirmed he has signed a full-time contract with the promotion and will be wrestling on a full-time basis for the first time since 2011.
Jay White
On April 5th, 2023, Tony Khan confirmed that Jay White is officially All Elite. The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion made his surprise debut on Dynamite to form Bullet Club Gold alongside Juice Robinson.
Jay White first appeared for AEW back in February 2022 and went on to make a number of appearances before wrestling at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door that June.
Nick Wayne
On July 2023 Nick Wayne became officially signed with All Elite Wrestling. The star has been waiting for over a year since signing an apprenticeship deal with the company in February 2022, Wayne was only 16 years old when he was offered the contract.
He was unable to officially begin until he turned 18. This all changed on July 12, 2023, when Wayne made his in-ring debut on AEW Dynamite and became an official member of the roster. Wayne had previously revealed he wasn’t being paid by the company under his apprenticeship deal.
Mark Briscoe
As per his usual MO AEW boss, Tony Khan posted on social media to confirm that Mark Briscoe had officially signed with AEW. The star had already been under contract with Ring of Honor where he is a 12-time ROH World Tag Team Champion with his late brother Jay.
Kota Ibushi
In October 2023, Kota Ibushi confirmed he had signed with AEW. During an interview on his YouTube channel, Ibushi confirmed he’d “signed the contract” with the Tony Khan-led promotion while remaining in Japan.
The Japanese star’s contract with NJPW expired in February and he was immediately linked with both WWE and AEW. In the end, Ibushi chose to link up with AEW, making his debut on the July 19th episode of Dynamite where he teamed with The Elite to defeat the Blackpool Combat Club inside Blood and Guts.
Despite Ibushi’s comments and AEW appearances, his signing wasn’t made official until Nov 15th.
Taya Valkyrie
On the March 15th, 2023 edition of AEW Dynamite, Taya Valkyrie made her surprise debut to confront then-TBS Champion Jade Cargill. She was then confirmed to be ‘All Elite’ by Tony Khan on social media.
Valkyrie holds the record for the longest-reigning Knockouts Championship in IMPACT! Wrestling and has performed all over the world including a brief run in NXT as Franky Monet. She has experience wrestling in the lucha libre style as she competed in Mexico for AAA and also for the American promotion Lucha Underground.
Aussie Open – Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis
On May 25th, 2023 AEW President Tony Khan, took to social media to reveal that Aussie Open’s Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis and signed with his promotion.
The former IWGP Tag Team Champions had previously appeared for AEW programming as part of Will Ospreay’s faction United Empire.
Roderick Strong
On the April 26th episode of AEW Dynamite, Roderick Strong made his surprising debut when he ran in to help Adam Cole as he was being attacked by the Jericho Appreciation Society.
Strong is a longtime partner of Cole having been a part of the Undisputed Era in NXT. Prior to that Strong was an ROH stalwart holding the ROH World, Television and Tag Team titles throughout his time in the promotion.
Skye Blue
On April 8th, 2023, Tony Khan officially confirmed that Skye Blue was part of the All Elite family. The talented 23 year old from Chicago has been working with AEW for over year first appearing on Dark and Elevation. From the beginning of the year she has been seen more recently on Dynamite and Rampage.
Prior to AEW, Blue has worked other promotions such as ROH, OVW, NWA, and Chicago’s own AAW where is a former women’s champion.
Billie Starkz
In October of 2023 it was confirmed that Billie Starkz had signed with AEW. Starkz has been making waves in both AEW and Ring of Honor throughout 2023. However, despite her impressive performances, she had not been officially recognised with an All Elite graphic. That changed in April when Tony Schiavone announced that AEW had signed Starkz on the What Happened When podcast.
At the age of just 18 Starkz has made a huge name for herself on the indie scene. She has wrestled for AAW, GCW, BLP, and Japan’s TJPW just to name a few.
Maraih May
After months of rumours Maraih May was revealed and as being ‘All Elite’ on the November 8th 2023 edition of Dynamite.
The British wrestler made her in-ring debut in 2019 for the promotion Hustle Wrestling. Competing all around the UK with multiple appearances for Rev Pro, May would have her first match in Stardom in January 2023, entering the Triangle Derby. Teaming with Mina Shirakawa, the duo known as Rose Gold would win the Goddess of Stardom Championship at the Stardom Sunshine event in June before dropping the titles to REStart in August. This was May’s only championship reign while signed to the promotion.
May’s final match in Stardom saw her lose to Hanan in the final round of Block A of the 2023 5STAR Grand Prix. Recognised for her achivements over the past year, May was ranked 95th in the PWI Women’s 250 in 2023.
Kommander
In April 2023, Tony Khan announced that Komander was now All Elite.
The High-flying Komander made his AEW debut on the March 1st episode of Dynamite where he took part in the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match. The star proved an instant hit with crowds while also going on to appear for Ring of Honor, GCW, and AAA in recent weeks.
The Mexcian star made his in-ring debut while he was just a teenager, before landing in AAA in 2019. Komander made his United States debut with GCW in June 2022.
The Righteous
In September 2023, the ROH act The Righteous quielty signed became All Elite. They have primarily feuded with The Dark Order in ROH and most recently, began appearing on AEW television.
The faction are known for their time ROH where they were the World Six Man Tag Team Champions.
Stu Grayson
The former Dark Order member re-signed and returned on the March 15th, 2023, episode of Dynamite. He has since continued to wrestle independently, while perfroming on ROH TV.
Grayson made his AEW debut at the first-ever Double Or Nothing pay-per-view in May 2019 alongside long-time tag team partner Evil Uno. The pair were accompanied by the infamous creepers and were the first members of what became The Dark Order.
Ric Flair
The Nature Boy walked out in front of an AEW crowd for the first time ever on the October 25th episode of Dynamite, revealed to be the surprise gift to Sting from Tony Khan.
On November 2nd, AEW announced that two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair had signed a multi-year deal with the company.
Nigel McGuinness
On March 31st, 2023 Nigel McGuninnes made a shock return to ROH to serve as color commentator. A few days later AEW President Tony Khan took to his trusted to social media platform to announce that McGuinness’ appearance at Supercard of Honor was not a one-off and the star is officially All Elite.
Ian Riccaboni
Longtime ROH commentator Ian Riccaboni kept his position following Tony Khan’s purchase of the company in 2022. Riccaboni has since worked ROH and AEW pay-per-views. In July 2023, it was reported that Riccaboni signed a multi-year contract with AEW.
Kevin Kelly
The former longtime WWE and NJPW commentator, Kevin Kelly Kelly officially joined AEW on June 17th, 2023, where he debuted as part of the commentary team for the inaugural episode of AEW Collision alongside Nigel McGuinness and Jim Ross.
