Roman Reigns has been betrayed by someone who was supposed to be family via a thunderous steel chair shot for the second time in his career.
While Sami Zayn’s actions at the Royal Rumble were more of an act of defiance, the moment was something of a call back to Reigns being laid out by Seth Rollins back in June 2014.
After being tested and pushed, screamed at, and put down, on January 28th, Sami Zyan could take no more. The star had not only watched his former best friend get beaten down but Kevin Owens had been utterly destroyed. But as Roman Reigns demanded that Zayn hit Owens with a chair, he decided enough was enough.
Zayn delivered the chair shot to Reigns instead before being attacked by Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso. Although one man wanted no part of the action. With the beatdown in full flow, Jey Uso stood conflicted and unsure of what to do.
Zayn may have betrayed The Bloodline, but at the same time his ‘brother’ had done what he thought was right, and he wasn’t going to attack the man he had come to love.
Looking visibly distraught, Jey refused to take part in the assault and left the ring. His actions were something of a full-circle moment as it had been Jey who was reluctant to join Roman Reigns all of the way back in the autumn of 2020.
Jey Uso Seemingly Cuts Ties With Roman Reigns
Posting on social media in the aftermath of the show, Jey has now seemingly sent a very clear message to his cousin. In a post on Instagram featuring a photo of himself at the Rumble, he simply wrote “I’m out,” with a drop of blood.
After clashing with Roman Reigns, Jey Uso eventually joined the Tribal Chief alongside his brother Jimmy. The trio was guided by Reigns’ Special Counsel Paul Heyman, and The Bloodline was born.
