Booker T Allegedly Wanted To “Fail” A Drug Test To Get A Vacation

Booker T

Booker T has one of the most illustrious wrestling careers of all time, making his name in WCW as one half of Harlem Heat with his brother Stevie Ray. Together the duo captured the WCW Tag Team Championships ten times before Booker T struck out on his own.

Famously a five-time WCW Champion, the master of the spinaroonie joined WWE after WCW closed its doors in 2001, attacking Stone Cold Steve Austin at that year’s King of the Ring. Booker T wound up winning that very tournament in 2006 and King Booker soon added a World Heavyweight Championship to his list of accolades.

Booker T – “I Want To Drug Test, I Want To Fail

Now speaking on his Extreme Life podcast, Matt Hardy has discussed one time during both men’s tenures in WWE when Booker T joked about wanting to fail a drug test purely to get some time off:

“Speaking of Booker T, there was one time whenever they were doing, you know, obviously drug tests and suspensions or whatever, I don’t know what it was, and he was talking about sh*t I’m working too hard. He said I want to drug test, I want to fail. He said give me the suspension, I want a vacation give me the suspension. Give me the 30, give me the 30 and he was on the trip all day long. I remember just dying about that. Once again, a funny dude.”

Booker T left WWE in 2007 before competing for a spell in TNA. He returned to the company in 2011 as an announcer and was given the honour of a WWE Hall of Fame induction in 2013. Six years later he became a two-time Hall of Famer when Harlem Heat was inducted for their tag team success.

The star recently returned to WWE as part of a shake-up of the announce teams and Booker T can be now heard at the commentary desk every Tuesday night alongside Vic Joseph on NXT.
