Ric Flair Jokes About Facing Sasha Banks

Ric Flair Sasha Banks

One of the most illustrious wrestling careers apparently came to an end in 2022 when Ric Flair took part in what was billed as his final-ever wrestling match. In July, The Nature Boy walked that aisle looking as only he can look one last time as he teamed with his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo to face Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett.

While perhaps not one of Flair’s in-ring masterpieces, the 73-year-old star saw the bout out, knocking out Jarrett with a pair of brass knuckles before locking his fellow WWE Hall of Famer in his Figure Four leg lock – which was recently called “dumb” by UFC announcer Joe Rogan – with Jarrett’s shoulders counted out for the pinfall.

Ric Flair – “I’m thinking about wrestling Sasha Banks”

Speaking to TMZ Sports Ric Flair recently responded to Rogan’s comments and he also showed his sense of humour as he joked about an unlikely WrestleMania bout with ‘The Boss’ Sasha Banks:

“I’m thinking about wrestling Sasha Banks. Maybe we’ll go up against WrestleMania [laughs].”

Ric Flair noted that he was definitely joking about that match up but as far as stepping in the ring again, he harkened back to the most famous of wrestling cliches:

“I don’t know. I don’t wanna say – I’ve already promised. Right now I’m not doing anything. But never say never, right?”

Never mind Ric Flair, whether or not Sasha Banks will ever compete at WrestleMania again is something that also is very much up in the air.

Banks made headlines alongside Naomi in May 2022 when they handed over their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship belts and walked out of Monday Night Raw despite being advertised for the show.

The pair were publicly chastised by the company and were stripped of their championship and suspended. With Triple H taking over the company in July, reports had suggested both women could be on their way back but as of now, Sasha Banks has reverted to her real name of Mercedes Varnado on social media and removed all mention of WWE from her accounts.
