5 WWE Records Smashed During The 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble

Rhea Ripley winner fo the 2023 WWE Royal Rumble

The WWE Royal Rumble has been and gone and left fans with many things to talk about for months (if not years) to come.

Who could forget the epic conclusion to the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match that saw Sami Zayn brutally kicked out of The Bloodline? After months of an expertly crafted storyline, the animosity between Zayn and Roman Reigns reached boiling point and resulted in a dramatic explosion of emotion and violence.

Another major talking point from the event was the triumphant return of Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare returned to action for the first time in months to enter the men’s Rumble match and emerge the victor. Rhodes will now head to WrestleMania 39 the challenge Reigns for the title.

Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER, also wrote his name into the history books. The Austrian lasted a record-breaking one hour eleven minutes and twenty-five seconds in the match is now the longest time for a WWE Superstar in a 30-man Rumble match.

Yet, despite all of these eventful happenings, the women’s Rumble match set a total of five new records.

Royal Rumble Winner Rhea Ripley Set 3 Records During The Match

The winner of the women’s Rumble match, Rhea Ripley has been on a tremendous run as of late. Since joining the Judgment Day she has gone from strength to strength. Her rise was on full show during the match. Ripley went bell to bell becoming the first-ever woman to enter the Rumble match at number one and win the whole thing.

Ripley’s record-breaking antics didn’t stop there. Due to going coast to coast, Ripley alongside Liv Morgan, who entered at number two and was the final elimination, lasted a history-making sixty-one minutes in the match.

Speaking of eliminations, Ripley set another record during the match. She eliminated seven other women taking her total number of eliminations to twenty, which is the most in women’s Rumble history thus far.

Another record made during the women’s Rumble match saw several Superstars achieve the most appearance status. Liv Morgan, Dana Brooke, Natalya and Tamina all became the first women to participate in four women’s Royal Rumble matches.

Finally, and unfortunately for Chelsea Green, she broke the record for the fasted elimination in women’s Rumble match history. The returning Superstar was dumped out of the match by Ripley after just four seconds.
