SmackDown Star Out Of Action With Right Hand Injury

WWE SmackDown Crowd

Shotzi is legitimately injured. A new report shines some light on the seriousness and legitimacy of Shotzi’s injury.

Recently, Shotzi was the victim of an attack by Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler where the two MMA women crushed her hand with a car door. WWE recently provided an update saying that Shotzi will miss up to six weeks of competition and now, a new report suggests that the injury is legitimate and the angle was used as a kayfabe reason to explain Shotzi’s absence from in-ring competition.

WWE SmackDown Star Is Battling Through Real Injury

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Shotzi will legitimately be out of action for six weeks after suffering a genuine broken hand that the car door angle was used to cover up.

As of yet, there is no word on how Shotzi broke her hand or what, if any, plans have changed following the injury. It is, however, reported that the injuries suffered by Raquel Rodriguez at the hands of Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler are completely storyline-driven and Rodriguez continues to work WWE Live Events.

The Shotzi angle on Smackdown where Baszler & Rousey broke her hand was a cover for a legit broken right hand that will put her out of action for six weeks.

Obviously the Rodriguez injury is a work as she’s been doing the house shows

Shotzi wrestled Ronda Rousey at WWE Survivor Series coming up short and her attempt to wrestle away the Smackdown Women’s Championship from the UFC legend.

During that match, there was a botched DDT spot, for which Ronda Rousey has since accepted the blame. You can read Rousey’s comment at this link.

Inside The Ropes will continue to provide an update on the status of Shotzi as more is known. We wish her a speedy recovery.
