Triple H considered the re-hiring of Bronson Reed a priority, per new reports. “The Game” was very keen on getting the former JONAH back in the fold once he gained power.

Triple H has been re-hiring many of the names let go by WWE in 2021 since the start of his new creative regime. Now, it’s being reported that a former NXT North American Champion was high on the list of must-haves for current WWE Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

Triple H Reportedly Saw Bronson Reed As A ‘Priority Hire’

A new report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select (subscription required) notes that Bronson Reed was long seen as a priority hire for Triple H when he gained power within WWE.

Prior to his WWE return, Reed, as JONAH, was wrestling in IMPACT Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Reed put over PCO on his way out of IMPACT Wrestling. In NJPW, while he scored a massive career highlight with a win over Kazuchika Okada in August 2022, he would also put “The Rainmaker over upon his exit from NJPW.

Reportedly, Bronson Reed is done with New Japan Pro-Wrestling unless WWE “brokers a deal” to allow his return, which hasn’t been done yet. A deal between Reed and WWE was not reached until October. New Japan was hopeful that they would be able to retain the services of “The Colossus” but ultimately, Reed made the decision to return to work for Triple H and headed back to WWE.

Bronson Reed made his return by helping The Miz defeat Dexter Lumis in a Ladder Match on Monday Night Raw back on December 19, 2022. In a promo shown on WWE’s digital platforms after the show, Reed was shown accepting a payoff from The Miz, or rather forcefully taking his money, for his handiwork on Monday.
