“The Godfather” Charles Wright has a new hip. The WWE Hall of Famer recently underwent successful hip replacement surgery.

Charles Wright, whether known as The Godfather, Papa Shango, “The Supreme Fighting Machine”, or Kama Mustafa, always took pride in entertaining the WWE Universe. Along the way in the course of his Hall of Fame career, for which he was honored by WWE in 2016, Godfather sustained numerous bumps and bruises and over time, the toll of wrestling competition would manifest itself in the wear and tear on his body.

The Godfather Undergoes Successful Surgery

On Monday, December 19, Charles Wright revealed on social media that he underwent successful replacement surgery. while he did not offer too much in the way of details, the Hall of Famer would say that morphine is a hell of a drug.

Hip replacement surgery went real well. And I will say that morphine is a hell of a drug..

Throughout the course of his Hall of Fame career, The Godfather racked up numerous championships including the WWE Intercontinental Championship and runs as one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions. Outside the Ring, Godfather was also known as a member of BSK alongside The Undertaker, Yokozuna, Henry Godwin, Phineas Godwin, Savio Vega, and more. The group, much like “The Kliq” was a brotherhood formed in the 1990s during the New Generation era of WWE.

Through the years, The Godfather and The Undertaker have opened up about their close relationship behind the scenes. Both WWE Hall of Famers were originally paired together in the Memphis wrestling territory and eventually, they would compete against one another in a major 1995 rivalry that culminated in a Casket Match at WWE SummerSlam.

Godfather was on hand at Undertaker’s final farewell at WWE Survivor Series 2020.
