Zack Sabre Jr. Calls Out Bryan Danielson Following G1 Climax Victory

The handle on the forbidden door is rattling once again as NJPW’s Zack Sabre Jr. wants to get his hands on The American Dragon Bryan Danielson.

Zack Sabre Jr. is currently one half of the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Dangerous Tekkers along with Taichi. The pair are members of Suzuki-Gun whose leader Minoru Suzuki has been battling in AEW with Jon Moxley in recent weeks.

Following Sabre Jr.’s win over reigning IWGP World Heavyweight Champion in the G1 Climax tournament, the Englishman took to the microphone and called out a different dragon to the one he had just slayed:

“When I’m on form, no one can touch me. Nobody has got the tekkers. Well, I’ll leave it there for now. So in summary, that’s the Japanese Dragon done, I wonder where the American Dragon is? I wonder where that ar*ehole is?”

Speaking on Rasslin’ with Brandon Walker, Bryan Danielson recently returned the compliment, saying:

“I want to wrestle Zack Sabre Jr. in England.”

Danielson then discussed the fact that Zack Sabre Jr. has won the award named after Danielson – the Wrestling Observer’s Best Technical Wrestler award – several years in a row, and wants to set that straight:

“Zack Sabre Jr has won the award seven years in a row. Some of those years, I was in retirement. Even since I’ve come back, he’s still winning the Best Technical Wrestler Award that’s named after me! I’m number two in my own award. Now, I want a match with him in England. Somehow, Zack Sabre Jr, if that is his real name, is winning the Bryan Danielson award. That’s something I really look forward to.”

Bryan Danielson recently laced up his boots for the first time in AEW as he faced reigning AEW World Champion Kenny Omega at AEW Grand Slam. In a gruelling contest, the two men went the distance as the bell rang at the end of the thirty-minute time limit with the result declared as a draw.
