Roman Reigns Says Hollywood Is His “Obvious Next Step”

WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has said that he sees a future for himself making movies, following in the footsteps of his cousin Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Reigns was speaking to Ariel Helwani on his MMA show when he was asked about a possible dream match against The Rock. The ‘Tribal Chief’ then noted that there is a better chance of that match happening in the biggest possible arena.

Reigns explained:

“No disrespect to Tampa stadium and obviously the conditions we’re in, it’s going to be less people, I’m grateful we even have 1,000 people out there. We can’t lie about it. Dallas is humongous. Jerry World is giant. I’ve already done it, over 100,000 people.”

Roman Reigns headlined WrestleMania 32 in the AT&T Stadium near Dallas, Texas in 2016. ‘Jerry World’ as it is known was reportedly filled with over 100,000 fans who saw Reigns win the WWE Championship on that night.

Reigns continued:

“The following year, I’m in his backyard. Imagine me with another couple of years with this dominance. In Hollywood, which God willing is the obvious next step if available and everything happens correctly. People in my position typically end up there. To be able to tell that story with him, it’d be cool. I want to create the largest, monumental moments in sports entertainment. If that involves him, then absolutely. It all comes back to the audience. What do our fans want to see? Those are the moments I want to create.”

WrestleMania returns to ‘Jerry World’ in 2022. The following year the entertainment spectacular will emanate from the SoFi Stadium in California as ‘WrestleMania goes Hollywood.’

Roman Reigns has previously gone on record as saying that WrestleMania in 2023 “makes sense” for a match between him and Rock.

At this year’s WrestleMania Reigns defends his WWE Universal Championship on night two against Edge and Daniel Bryan.

WrestleMania airs on the 10th and 11th of April. The event is available to watch on Peacock in the United States and elsewhere globally on the WWE Network.
