MJF On Toning Himself Down For WWE: “I Don’t Know How The F*** You Put A Leash On Me”

MJF

MJF says he can’t be tamed no matter where he ends up in 2024.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman hasn’t been shy about bringing up his contract status on AEW television, often touting the “bidding war of 2024.” Despite a November report that MJF had signed a new multi-year deal with AEW, the star insists that he’s still set to become a free agent on January 1, 2024.

Speaking about the potential of making the switch to WWE with Jimmy Traina for SI Media, Friedman was asked if he feels he could tone down his character in order to work with the sports entertainment giant. According to MJF, it’s impossible to put a leash on him, no matter what company he’s working for.

“I just don’t know how the f*** you put a leash on me. And I swear to God that’s my honest opinion… I don’t know, I don’t think anybody can hold me back from being the monster that I am. I think my career trajectory in any company is going to be exactly the same.

“Do I think in some aspects AEW fits me more like a glove than anywhere else? Yeah, I do. Could an argument be made the other way around? Yeah, sure. These are all things that I have to think about. But I do know whatever company I pick, it will be because it feels right and it means the most to me.”

Cody Rhodes Could See MJF Joining WWE

In a recent interview, former AEW EVP Cody Rhodes said that he could see MJF joining him in WWE one day.

While Cody received some online backlash for his comments, MJF explained why the WWE comments come as no surprise to him and why he took them as a compliment.
