Becky Lynch Discusses The Possibility Of Leaving WWE

Becky Lynch Discusses WWE Future

Becky Lynch has discussed what WWE means to her and if there are any intentions to explore other opportunities.

Presented as one of the top stars in the women’s division for a number of years, Lynch has won 6 World Championships and has headlined multiple big shows, including WrestleMania 35. While The Man has been consistently presented as a top star and is a guaranteed Hall of Famer, is there a scenario where Lynch decides to depart the company that made her a household name?

While there was a point where certain stars appeared to be lifers for their respective promotions, few could have guessed in the past few years that Cody Rhodes would make his way back to WWE and Edge would debut in AEW. Despite reports circulating that Lynch’s contract is one of many that are set to expire in 2024, don’t expect The Man to compete anywhere else but WWE.

Speaking with Strutting From Gorilla, Lynch elaborated on her connection with the promotion and how it has been a part of her since childhood. Describing the promotion as her home, Lynch stated that her final wrestling match will take place inside a WWE ring:

“Absolutely. Growing up, WWE is what I watched, it’s what I loved, it’s the reason I became a professional wrestler. Now, having been in it, I love it. I love the people, I love the audience, and I love being able to be an important part of change. I love that I get to continue to drive that and that my voice matters in WWE. I feel listened to, and I feel we’ve been able to change the landscape of women’s wrestling forever. That feels very special to me. It’s my home. It’s where I was born as a professional wrestler in many ways in terms of my influence, and it’s where I’ll retire.”

In the same interview, Becky Lynch discussed her dream opponent for WrestleMania.

Becky Lynch Praised For NXT Work

Like many of the top stars of today, Lynch was first a part of NXT before eventually being called up to the main roster. In Autumn 2023, Lynch would make her return to the developmental brand after being repeatedly called out by Tiffany Stratton, who was the NXT Women’s Champion at the time. Lynch would dethrone Stratton and spend a number of weeks on the brand, elevating the talent and having a positive impact on the ratings. Speaking on a media call ahead of the Deadline Premium Live Event, Shawn Michaels heavily praised Becky Lynch for her work on the NXT brand.

H/t to Fightful.
