Anna Jay has provided an update for fans after undergoing shoulder surgery.

The member of The Dark Order posted a photo on Twitter with a short statement thanking fans for their well wishes and support.

“Hi everyone 🙂 I just got out of my shoulder surgery, and all is well. For the next two days I will most likely sleep and eat only ice cream and soup. But after that…I will be working my ass off in any way I can. Thanks for all of the support and well wishes. -99″

Although Jay offered no update on a possible timetable for her recovery, it has previously been reported that she would be out of action for between 6-12 months.

Jay had been scheduled to take part in the AEW Women’s Championship Eliminator Tournament, but was withdrawn before the tournament began. She was due to take on Dr. Britt Baker in the first round but as replaced by Madi Wrenkowski, who was eventually defeated by Baker.

In Jay’s absence Ryo Mizunami would go on to win the tournament, but would herself be defeated by Hikaru Shida at AEW Revolution in a match for the latter’s AEW Women’s Championship.

Anna Jay was last seen inaction on AEW Dark in January, and hadn’t appeared on Dynamite since the ‘Brodie Lee Celebration of Life’ episode in December.

Meanwhile it has been announced that for the first time ever two women will main event AEW Dynamite when Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa clash at St Patrick’s Day Slam on March 17th.
