Julia Hart Makes AEW History; Breaks Four-Year Record At Full Gear

Julia Hart celebrating her TBS Championship win at AEW Full Gear 2023

Julia Hart has made AEW history, setting a historic new record in the promotion thanks to her TBS Championship win at Full Gear.

Hart was one of two new champions crowned at AEW Full Gear where she defeated Skye Blue and defending champion Kris Statlander to become the third TBS Champion in history. Hart stole the win from Statlander who hit her Saturday Night Fever finisher on Blue before Hart pushed her out of the way and got the pinfall victory.

The win not only marked Hart’s first championship win of her professional wrestling career but also caused the young star to break a historic AEW record that has stood in the promotion for over four years: Julia Hart is now the youngest champion ever in AEW history at just 22 years old.

Back in October 2019, Riho initially set the record on the first episode of AEW Dynamite when she became the inaugural AEW Women’s World Champion at the age of 22. Despite Hart being the same age as Riho was when she obtained the record, the House of Black member barely eeks out with the record by being just three months younger than Riho was back then.

Who Else Won A Title Alongside Julia Hart At AEW Full Gear?

The only other title to change hands at Full Gear was the AEW Women’s World Championship, with Toni Storm capturing the title for the third time.

Storm dethroned Hikaru Shida for the title though her victory was tainted by the use of a foreign object. In the match’s closing moments, she managed to slip a small metal tray into the back of her trunks and proceeded to hit Shida with a running hip attack aided by the tray to get the win.
