CJ Perry Provides Post-Surgery Update After Contracting “Possibly Fatal” Infection

CJ Perry Undergoes Surgery Following Hospital Admission

AEW’s CJ Perry has updated everyone on her condition after being treated for an infection that caused her to be hospitalised.

On December 16th, Perry gave an update via social media that she had been admitted to a hospital in San Fernando, California due to the infection that had travelled from her finger to her arm. As a result, Perry was unable to make a previously scheduled appearance at a CMLL event alongside Andrade El Idolo.

In a further update 2 days later, Perry stated that after being evaluated over the course of 2 days, the infection had gotten worse and she would require surgery:

I have been in the ER and hospital for over 50 hours. The infection has gotten worse and I’m going into surgery tonight. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I love you all

In an update from Perry’s wife Miro via Instagram story on December 19th, the AEW star was seen out of surgery and recovering in a hospital ward.

CJ Perry Reveals Cause Of Infection

Sat in a hospital bed following the surgery, Perry posted a further update video stating that she was brought to the hospital in an ambulance and the infection “was possibly fatal.” The cause of the infection was believed to be a splinter, with Perry also stating that she may require additional surgery. Signing off the video, the AEW star thanked everyone for all of their well wishes.

The caption accompanying the update video is as follows:

I have been in the hospital since Saturday fighting a fatal infection that came from getting a small splinter backstage at work this past Wednesday. Please keep me in your prayers. And everyone really take care of any cuts you get. As small as a splinter can turn into a deadly infection. Love all of you guys and thank you to everyone who has reached out.

Inside The Ropes would like to wish CJ Perry a full and speedy recovery.
