Eric Bischoff Explains Why Fans Will Lose Faith If AEW Moves To A Smaller Network

Eric Bischoff expressed his concerns about the potential consequences if AEW were to move its TV programming to a smaller network.

Eric Bischoff believes that such a move could result in AEW fans losing faith and interest in the product, ultimately leading to the demise of the company. According to Bischoff in a recent episode of Strictly Business, if AEW were to switch to a smaller network, audiences would perceive it as a downgrade and subsequently lose faith in the brand. He stated:

If AEW moves to another network, a lesser network, a network that is even perceived as a lesser even if it’s not too much less? Right? The audience will lose faith in the brands. They will decide that it’s no longer worth their time.

Bischoff argued that AEW has been overhyped and consistently underdelivers, which has eroded fans’ loyalty over time. Moving to a smaller network could be the final blow. Bischoff highlighted the CM Punk drama and Tony Khan‘s overpromising as examples of AEW’s credibility issues.

All the Punk drama, letting that happen. Having Punk sh*t all over AEW, and Tony Khan. That was the beginning of the audience losing faith. And it’s progressively gotten worse.

He emphasised that it’s the accumulation of these small missed promises that has eaten away at the audience’s belief and loyalty. Bischoff warned:

It’s all these little things, that eat away at your credibility. Eat away at the audience’s belief and you eat away at their loyalty because they don’t want to be loyal to someone who isn’t being loyal back by delivering on their promises and overhyping and spinning.
