CM Punk Explains WWE Return: “This Isn’t About Me”

CM Punk has addressed his return to WWE.

As Survivor Series 2023 seemed to be coming to a close, Cult of Personality hit and CM Punk made his shocking return to WWE. The comeback was a surprise to many due to the circumstances around his decision to walk out almost a decade ago and the numerous shots he has taken at the company in the time since then.

In the weeks since his return, CM Punk has referred to WWE as his “home” and said he wanted to show he is the true “Best in the World.”

Now, during an Instagram Live chat with Elite Comics and Kulture City, Punk has elaborated further, saying his comeback “isn’t about him,” rather it is for the WWE fans who are behind him and chanted his name throughout his absence from the company.

“This isn’t about me, this is about us. This about everybody that is behind me. That for ten years didn’t forget, chanted my name. I’m going to put the boots back on for all of ya’ll. We’re going to go on this journey together.”

When Will CM Punk Have First WWE Match?

It has been announced that CM Punk will have the first match since his return at Madison Square Garden. At the company’s annual Holiday Tour live event on December 26th, Punk will clash with Dominik Mysterio, competing in a WWE ring for the first time in nearly a decade.

CM Punk has also announced that he will be part of the 2024 Royal Rumble match, setting his sights on a match for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40 against Seth Rollins.
