Windham Rotunda, AKA Bray Wyatt, Passes Away At Age 36

Bray Wyatt

Horrible news hits the wrestling world once again as Windham Rotunda, aka Bray Wyatt, has passed away at the age of 36.

WWE Creative Content Officer Triple H went on The X to make the tragic announcement.

“Just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda who informed us of the tragic news that our WWE family member for life Windham Rotunda – also known as Bray Wyatt – unexpectedly passed earlier today. Our thoughts are with his family and we ask that everyone respect their privacy at this time.”

Rotunda was reportedly dealing with an undisclosed illness that had him removed from WWE programming following Royal Rumble earlier this year, but a report stated that the illness he was dealing with was career and life-threatening. However his father Mike Rotunda stated that he believed his son was nearing a return.

It has since been revealed that Bray Wyatt’s cause of death was a heart attack associated with an ongoing illness.

The Historic Career Of Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt made a memorable and lasting impact on WWE, being the star known for carrying on the “supernatural” mantle, made by The Undertaker. Before that, however, he first got his start on the original version of NXT as Husky Harris. However, after the heel faction of Nexus disbanded, Wyatt went back down to developmental and reinvented himself as Bray Wyatt, a character akin to Waylon Mercy, but with a cult-like mentality. He, along with Erick Rowan and the late Brodie Lee formed the Wyatt Family, a faction that made an impact on the main roster.

Wyatt’s persona would go on through several changes before striking gold once again with The Fiend, an alter ego of Wyatt’s. In his career, Wyatt became a three-time WWE World Champion. Wyatt is survived by his father Mike, his mother Stephanie, his brother Taylor (Bo Dallas), his uncles Barry and Kendall, and his four childern. Inside The Ropes will be sure to keep everyone updated as further details of the situation develop.

We at Inside The Ropes would like to send our thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences to Windham Rotunda, his family, friends and all his fans.
