Charlotte Flair has been pulled from WWE live events following her apparent injury on the December 6th episode of SmackDown.
Flair took on Asuka in a singles match during last night’s edition of SmackDown which, unfortunately, did not go according to plan. PWInsider reports that during a commercial break, Flair slipped and got caught in the ropes while setting up a spot, twisting her knee and hitting her head in the process.
When the show resumed for television audiences, Flair was seen lying in the middle of the ring being checked on by referee Charles Robinson. The match was then rushed to the finish with Bayley distracting Flair from ringside, allowing Asuka to roll her up for the win.
Afterward, Flair was attended to by both Robinson and various medical officials before being helped to the backstage area. Fans at ringside noted on social media that Flair pointed out her knee being the issue while being attended to in the ring.
PWInsider added after the show that Flair was evaluated by medical officials backstage and there’s some concern from other WWE talents about her knee in particular.

While it’s still unclear how severe the injury to Flair’s knee is, PWInsider also reports that the star has returned home to Florida and will no longer be appearing at upcoming live events that she was advertised for. Mike Johnson writes:
“PWInsider.com has confirmed that Charlotte Flair has returned home to Florida.
WWE sources have indicated that she is not expected back in the ring until she is completely evaluated medically. She has been pulled off the road until the company gets confirmation on the nature of the injury. We are told the company is working on setting that up right now.”
Back in October, Ric Flair was asked about the possibility of his daughter breaking the record for the most world championship reigns in WWE history, which he currently co-holds alongside John Cena with 16 separate reigns. Flair declared that he was optimistic Charlotte would surpass his record and added that the accomplishment would “be the biggest thing in the business.”
