WWE will present the Royal Rumble live from the Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on Saturday, January 27th 2024.
The upcoming Premium Live Event will be the 37th time that the event has been held in company history and will be the second time that the event has been held at Tropicana Field. Back in 2021, the St. Petersburg venue hosted the Rumble inside the Thunder Dome with no fans in attendance due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
As has been the case since 2018, 30 men and 30 women will each enter their respective rumble matches, with the winners of each match going on to face a champion of their choosing at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia.
The winners of the respective Rumbles in 2023 had mixed results. Rhea Ripley would go on to dethrone Charlotte Flair and capture the Women’s Championship on night one of WrestleMania and remain champion throughout 2023. Unfortunately for Cody Rhodes, The American Nightmare failed to finish the story against Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania Sunday, becoming another casualty in the lengthy reign of The Tribal Chief.
