WWE Makes Fun Of Trademark Issues With New Addition To Online Shop

WWE have referenced some recent legal complications with their newest piece of merchandise.

As seen on the December 4th broadcast of Raw, Jey Uso was preparing for his match against World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. As was seen in a promotional video package that aired before the title match, Uso’s “Yeet” shirt saw the former Tag Team Champion’s catchphrase blurred out. The reason behind this was that WWE had lost the trademark battle to license the word Yeet, meaning that Uso’s merchandise looked set to be discontinued. Fans would head to the online shop en masse to purchase the shirt while they still had the chance as it appeared that no more would be produced.

However, later in the week, Jey Uso would confirm on social media that his popular catchphrase was back and it could be used again in promos and, more importantly, be used on merchandise.

Seeing the funny side of the events that took place, a surprising addition has been spotted by fans on the company’s online store. The new shirt sees the Yeet catchphrase blurred out, as has been modelled by Uso:

Multiple Superstars Sign New WWE Deals

The promotion is set to enter one of the most important periods of contract negotiations in recent history. On January 1st 2019, AEW was officially founded and was looking to sign big names to their roster. To prevent top stars from being poached by the upstart company, multiple stars from Raw and SmackDown signed new deals that were said to last 5 years and come with a substantial pay rise. In 2024, these big deals are set to expire and the wrestling landscape looks very different.

While multiple Superstars are yet to confirm new deals, it has been recently announced that Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio have each re-signed with WWE.

In more good news for Uso, the WWE Superstar has recently broken a 4-month streak on Raw.
