Hulk Hogan Heaps Praise On WWE Star: “He’s Making Masterpieces In The Ring”

Hulk Hogan Heaps Praise On WWE Star:

Hulk Hogan is a big admirer of one of the longest-tenured stars in company history.

In 2006, Randy Orton targeted The Hulkster and his family which culminated in a match at SummerSlam. Hogan would defeat The Viper in what would be the Hall of Famer’s final WWE match. However, Orton would recently return from a near career-ending injury at Survivor Series and arguably looks better than ever. In an age of cramming as many moves as possible into a match, Orton’s veteran and methodical style still holds up today and stands out more than ever.

While being interviewed by Sports Illustrated, Hogan discussed Orton’s in-ring work and how everything he does in a match tells the story and is placed perfectly:

“Randy’s done something I haven’t seen done before. He’s a hybrid. A third-generation wrestler who learned from the old school. You can’t see any holes in his work. Everything he does means something. Randy doesn’t get a guy in the corner and stomp him 20 times for no reason. He’ll stop you once or twice, and it means something. He understands how to adjust and adapt in a way no one else really does.”

Hogan continued his praise by stating how adaptable Orton is and can have a great match with any style of opponent:

“Watching Randy now, he fits perfectly. Not only does he adjust to the styles of the young guys, but watch his matches. He slows guys down and teaches them in the match. On the spot, he calls audibles and shows them how to do it. Open my hand, here’s the diamond. He’s transitioned from old school to this hybrid.”

Randy Orton has recently discussed his match style on Logan Paul’s podcast, stating that he wants to tell a story and doesn’t want a Dancing with the Stars routine.

Hulk Hogan Wishes He Could Face Randy Orton One More Time

At 70 years old and dealing with multiple injuries from decades of wrestling, Hogan has no intentions of stepping back in the ring for one more match. However, if he could still compete, he would love to run back the SummerSlam 2006 main event one more time:

“If I wasn’t all beat to hell, I’d love to get in the ring with Randy. We could still tear it down in the main event. Randy could call it in the ring, and he could adjust to my style to make sure it worked perfectly. He’s just so good. He can work with veterans and the newer guys, too. He knows how to pivot both ways in the ring.

“He understands wrestling in a way very few do. That’s why he is making masterpieces in the ring.”

Continuing to watch the current product and give his thoughts on the stars of today, Hulk Hogan recently revealed multiple WWE Stars he would love to hypothetically have a match with.
